Ottertoberfest and Barktoberfest Are Coming this Saturday
Find out what's happening this weekend in and around North Whitehall.

Getting your dog into a Halloween costume might not be the easiest thing in the world.
But what if you could $100 for your efforts?
That's not hypothetical. On Saturday, the Upper Macungie dog park's first ever Barktoberfest will feature-- among other things -- a dog Halloween costume contest, offering prizes for the best dressed pet. (If you want to get dressed up too, that's fine.)
There's also a pet parade at 12:30 p.m., a K9 demonstration from township police, activity for kids, live music, food vendors and more. Barktoberfest runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the park, located on Route 100 in Fogelsville.Â
Also this weekend:
- Dress up like an otter at the Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville at its Ottertoberfest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Zoo-goers will be able to dance along with the Happy Dutchman German Band and Radio Disney and adults can try craft beer and wine.
- It's Homecoming Week for Parkland High School. The school's annual homecoming parade is scheduled for Friday night, along with the Parkland/Bethlehem Catholic game.
- And if you're a Parkland student, the high school homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are still available: $10 in advance, or $15 at the door.
- Lehigh County's Open Gate Farm Tour is Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., giving the public a chance to explore local farms, including some the Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield.
- Clover Hill Vineyards celebrates the Chambourcin grape this weekend, with a series of cooking demonstrations using Chambourcin wines Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1, 2, 3 and 4.
