Child Shot By Teen In PA Road Rage Incident: Police

The incident began miles before the shooting, according to authorities.

PENNSYLVANIA — A child was shot by a teenager during a road rage incident in Pennsylvania recently, authorities said.

Christopher Lee Bencosme, 18, of Allentown, has been charged with aggravated assault and related counts.

The incident occurred in Whitehall Township in Lehigh County on the evening of Nov. 25.

Two vehicles became involved in an altercation somewhere along Route 22 just before 6 p.m., according to police. The circumstances surrounding the start of the conflict remain unclear.

At some point later, near Third and Grape streets in Whitehall, Bencosme fired multiple shots from his vehicle into the other vehicle, police said, striking the child.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital with what police said they believe are non life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Police declined to make additional comment on the case.
