District Judge Robert Halal To Run For Re-Election

Magisterial District Judge Robert C. Halal has announced his re-election bid for District Court 31-1-07, which serves Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough.

Magisterial District Judge Robert C. Halal has announced his re-election bid for District Court 31-1-07, which serves Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough.

Halal, 48, will cross-file for the Democratic and Republican nomination.

“I believe that the district judge is the most important step in the judicial process and promise to continue to uphold a high standard of justice as I have proven since November 2007 as the current magisterial district judge,” Halal said in a news release.

Halal served as a Pennsylvania State Constable for 16 years before being appointed magisterial district judge in 2007. Halal said he has handled more than 25,000 cases that included landlord/tenant, civil, traffic, non-traffic, criminal and miscellaneous filings.

Halal serves on the LCTI-Occupational Advisory Council, Law Enforcement/Security Systems for more than five years and speaks annually on criminal justice at Penn State-Lehigh Valley.

He is a member of the Whitehall Lions Club, Egypt Fire, Pennsylvania Blue Knights, Egypt Veterans, Fullerton Fire Hall, Egypt Memorial Park and the District 10 Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania.

He is the son of Stella and the late Charles Halal and a 1982 graduate of Whitehall High School. Halal lives in Egypt with his wife, Denise. He has a daughter, Morgan, and two stepchildren, J’nan and Brian, and is expecting a granddaughter in July.
