Family Fun Today at Laurys Station Community Day

Looking for a way to make the most of fall today? Stop by Laurys Station Fire Company and the nearby North Whitehall Township fields for food, classic cars, a cake walk, games, dunk tank, live music, a moon bounce and fireworks.

Skip the chores Saturday and bring the family to the second annual Laurys Station Community Day. The fun starts at 2 p.m. and ends with fireworks as soon as it gets dark. The price of admission is a canned food item to be donated to the Agape New Testament Fellowship Church Food Bank in Schnecksville.

Organizer Wendy Ayers-Meyers said the outreach committee at St. John's United Church of Christ planned last year's event as a way to reach out to the community and help the food bank.

Hundreds of people attended the first event and there is even more planned for this year. DJ Dave D will be there from 4 to 6p.m. and live music from the Christian rock group SWiM and the Deadliners will also be featured at 6 p.m.
