How Many Signs Will $264,000 Buy?
Lehigh Carbon Community College will place dozens of new signs throughout the Schnecksville campus by July.

Students, faculty and visitors to Lehigh Carbon Community College will have an easier time navigating their way around the main campus thanks to dozens of new signs that will be installed by late summer.
The college will spend $264,000 to create and install 84 new signs, including some in 3D and a large electronic sign at the school's entrance on Route 309. The board of trustees approved a bid Thursday to hire Forman Sign Company of Philadelphia to install the signs.
"We'd like to have them all up and working before the kids are back," said Carl Peckitt, LCCC's director of facilities and maintenance.

Peckett said the college's marquis entrance sign, which will have a message board, will take longer to construct and may not be ready in July.
Many of the outdoor signs' LED lights will stay on all night, including during a power failure because they will be run by a generator. Peckitt said the lights could help fire departments during an emergency.
