Man Snatched Beef Jerky—Twice, Police Say
Andrew Wieder of Orefield allegedly broke into a garage and stole bags of beef jerky, a credit card and cash, police said.

An Orefield man with a taste for beef jerky and electronics faces multiple charges after allegedly breaking into an Upper Macungie garage in May and stealing a credit card.
Police said 22-year-old Andrew Wieder allegedly broke into an Upper Macungie garage on May 12 and took two bags of homemade beef jerky, a credit card and $200 in cash from the victim's car.
Police said Wieder allegedly used the credit card at Hess Express in Orefield that night to buy more beef jerky, gasoline and cigarettes.
Wieder then allegedly used the credit card on the same night to buy an iPad at the Wal-Mart in Lower Macungie Township, police said.
Two more unsuccessful attempts were made to purchase addition electronics before Wieder returned the credit card to the owner's car.
Upper Macungie Detective Adam Miller investigated the incident.
Police said Wieder was charged Friday with burglary, access device fraud, forgery and theft.
Wieder was arraigned at Lehigh County Central Booking and eventually released on $10,000 bail.
