Tire Recycling Center Opens April 1

North Whitehall Township will again accept used tires at its recycling center  beginning April 1.

The recycling center, behind the township building at 3256 Levans Road, had been closed for the winter.

The township sends the used tires to the Lafarge cement plant in Whitehall, which burns the tires to generate electricity, according to Ronald Heintzelman, chairman of the North Whitehall board of supervisors.
