Man Dead After Standoff With Philly Police: Reports
A man in his 50s took his own life after an hours-long standoff with police in Philadelphia Sunday night.
PHILADELPHIA — A man is dead after an overnight standoff with Philadelphia Police.
The situation unfolded at about 9 p.m. Sunday on the 5100 block of North 10th Street.
Fox 29 reports officers were called to the area for a shooting, and when first responders showed up, they were met with gunfire from a man in a second floor window of a home on that block.

The man fired shots at police and medics for several hours, and at one point a woman who was being held in the home was able to escape from a second-floor window, according to Action News. She was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Eventually, the man, only identified as being in his 50s, took his own life by gunshot, NBC10 reports.

Three other people were rescued from the home.
There is no word on the man's identity or the identities of the victims.
