$10K Reward Offered In Stable Fire That Killed Horses: Philly Police

ACCT Philly is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person who started the fire.

PHILADELPHIA — After a fire at a pop-up stable in Southwest Philadelphia killed two horses and hurt others, Philadelphia's ACCT is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of the person responsible for starting the fire.

The fire started at a pop-up stable on the 5800 block of Eastwick Avenue at about 7:30 a.m. Feb. 20.

The Pennsylvania SPCA said its officers responded to the scene and found two horses dead.

Twelve other horses were alive, however. Three of the surviving horses were taken to University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center for critical treatment. Three more horses were taken to the Pennsylvania SPCA’s Philadelphia headquarters.

The ATF’s Philadelphia Arson and Explosives Task Force is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person depicted in the video responsible for starting this fire.

Police described the suspect as a white male with a thin build who was wearing dark-colored pants, a gray long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt, and a black hat.

If you see this suspect, do not approach him and instead contact 911 immediately.
