Here are the top stories today in Philadelphia:
- Thirteen-year-old Leienna Cuevas has been found and reunited with her family. Cuevas was reported missing over the weekend after she was last seen by her mother on Oct. 23 at their Northeast Philadelphia residence. Police announced Tuesday the teen girl had been found and reunited with her family. (CBS Philly)
- Investigators continue to search for a driver who did not stop after fatally striking an 8-year-old boy with an SUV Monday afternoon in Strawberry Mansion. The vehicle was speeding through the intersection of 33rd and Huntingdon streets at around 4:15 p.m. when it hit Ja-Kha House, who lived a block away, police said. He was with his mother at the time of the crash, according to multiple media reports. (Metro US)
- The Philadelphia Eagles on Monday traded backup quarterback Joe Flacco to the New York Jets, which means Gardner Minshew is now the Eaglesβ new No. 2. In return, the Eagles get a 2022 sixth-round pick from the Jets that can turn into a fifth-rounder based on playing time, according to ESPN. This also means Minshew is one spot closer to the starting gig. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Talks continue on Tuesday between SEPTA and its biggest union. If both sides donβt reach a deal by Halloween, workers say theyβll walk off the job as early as Monday morning.
Sources say talks went well on Monday between SEPTA and TWU Local 234. (CBS Philly) - Digitunity announces the generous donation of 700 laptop devices from Unisys, a global IT solutions company headquartered in Blue Bell, Pa., to the PHLDonateTech initiative. This City of Philadelphia initiative calls on residents and businesses to donate devicesβparticularly laptops and computersβso they can be refurbished and distributed to residents in need across Philadelphia.
