16-Year-Old Girl Killed In North Philadelphia Shooting: Police

Multiple outlets reported the shooting may have been an accident.

PHILADELPHIA — A 16-year-old girl was shot and killed Tuesday evening in North Philadelphia, according to police.

Officers responded shortly before 5:30 p.m. to the 2400 block of North Colorado Street and found the girl to be suffering from gunshot wounds, police said, adding she was taken to Temple University Hospital and died around 6:45 p.m.

A person was in custody Tuesday night and a weapon had been recovered, according to police.

FOX 29 and NBC 10 Philadelphia both reported that the shooting occurred in a home and may have been an accident.
