- SEPTA police are searching for a man who they say robbed a 16-year-old girl at knifepoint at a Philadelphia subway station Tuesday afternoon. The alleged robbery happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Race-Vine Station on the Broad Street Line. After the robbery, the man hopped on a southbound train and exited at City Hall Station before boarding a westbound route 13 trolley. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- The Philadelphia Health Department expects to receive doses of the childrenβs Pfizer vaccine, even before it gets approval from federal regulators. The cityβs COVID-19 update was streamed Wednesday morning on CBSN Philly. Dr. Cheryl Bettigole said 70 percent of providers of child immunizations are also authorized to give COVID vaccines. - Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams announced that Scott Brooks, 40,Jeffrey McDonald, 22, and Jesse Brintley, 28, all of Philadelphia, PA, were sentenced this week by United States District Court Judge C. Darnell Jones II for their involvement in the armed robbery of a locally-owned Philadelphia pharmacy. Brooks was sentenced to 14 years in prison, McDonald was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and Brintley was sentenced to more than nine years in prison. The men have also been ordered to pay more than $18,000 total in restitution. (MyChesCo)
- Philadelphia's temporary Outdoor Dining Program has enabled hundreds of restaurants across Philadelphia to earn much-needed revenue by offering outdoor dining, safely. Business owners and residents should know that the emergency authorization that has allowed for these expanded outdoor dining options will end on Dec. 31, 2021, unless the Philadelphia City Council takes action to extend the program. - Temple University Police are warning the community of a man who has been inappropriately touching women. Police said on Tuesday evening to be on the lookout a man riding a scooter who been involved in three incidents of inappropriately touching women. The incidents occurred at about 8:53 p.m. Monday at 1400 Polett Walk, the evening of Sept. 21 on 15th Street, and the evening of Sept. 22 on 16th Street. (Philadelphia Patch)
