3 Charged In Philadelphia Armored Truck Robbery
One of the men accused of robbing a Brinks armored truck in June is a former employee of the company, federal authorities said.
PHILADELPHIA — Federal authorities said three men have been charged in connection with the robbery of an armored truck in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.
The robbery occurred June 21 near a Home Depot on the 2500 block of Castor Avenue in Port Richmond. Daishaun Hughes-Murchison, 30; Brian Wallace, 31; and Trayvine Jackson, 31, all of Philadelphia, were the robbers, and they made off with more than $2 million, according to prosecutors.
At about 8 a.m. that day, a Brink’s armored car driver was nearing a Home Depot as part of his scheduled route.

As the driver walked down the rear alley of Home Depot, two men armed with AR-style rifles approached him from behind.
They forced him to the ground, then took his company-issued firearm and his keys.

One of the robbers stayed with the driver, while the other went into the truck and stole cash from the truck.
The two men then drove off in a black Hyundai Sonata with a temporary Virginia license plate. A third man followed them in a silver Ford Fusion with a Pennsylvania plate.
Investigators determined that the Ford belonged to Hughes-Murchison, and the Hyundai was rented by Wallace, who returned the car a few hours after the robbery, authorities said.
Video footage showed that after returning the Sonata, Wallace got into Hughes-Murchison’s Ford, which drove off.
Phone records traced Wallace's and Jackson's cellphones to the area of the car rental site at that time, and place Wallace's and Hughes-Murchison's phones in the area of the Home Depot at the time of the robbery, authorities said.
Jackson is a former Brink’s employee, according to authorities. He was suspended and then terminated after an internal investigation, authorities said.
