30-Plus Rounds Fired In Deadly South Philly Double Shooting

A 37-year-old man died, and a 23-year-old man was hurt, in a shooting late Tuesday night, according to Philadelphia Police.

PHILADELPHIA — A man is dead and another hurt after they were caught in a hail of gunfire Tuesday night in Philadelphia, according to police.

The shooting happened at about 11:40 p.m. on the 600 block of Mountain Street.

Police were called to the area and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One man, 37 years old, was shot in his back and buttocks. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:12 a.m.

The other man, 23 years old, was shot in his right shoulder and was taken to Jefferson, where he is in stable condition.

Police said more than 30 spent shell casings were found at the scene, and it's unclear how many guns were used in the shooting.

Authorities found a gun in the area of the shooting.

No motive has been determined, and no arrests have been made.
