  1. Six people have been killed in weekend gun violence across Philadelphia; others were left severely injured, including two teenagers. The Philadelphia Police Department said two of the deadly shootings happened just hours apart from each other on Old York Road. Deadly gun violence continued in North Philly on Saturday night when police reported two fatal shootings that happened mere minutes apart. In between the deadly gunfire, police responded to several non-fatal shootings over the weekend. (FOX 29 News Philadelphia)
  2. Food delivery services like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub could soon have their delivery fees capped under new legislation out of the Philadelphia City Council. Councilmember Cherelle Parker proposed a bill Friday to permanently cap third-party food delivery fees at 15% to support restaurants and businesses recover from the pandemic. This legislation builds upon a previous bill from Parker that temporarily imposed a 15% cap on delivery fees at the start of the pandemic when delivery rates reached as high as 30% to 40% of the total bill. 3. Guard shortages lead to dangerous conditions for inmates and staff in Philadelphia's prison system. City Controller Rebecca Rynhart says staffing shortages that started before the pandemic have only grown, with 479 officer vacancies out of 1,884 positions. "When you have that type of staffing shortage, inmates are forced into lockdown for 22 to 23 hours a day," said Rynhart, who noted that these lockdowns can lead to aggressive behavior amongst inmates. 4. A piece of Philadelphia's history is going up for auction: an extremely rare and official first-edition printed copy of the U.S. Constitution. Fine arts company Sotheby's will be putting the print up for bid in mid-November. The copy's estimated value is between $15 and $20 million. Only 11 like it survive today, and this copy is the only one not in a permanent institutional collection. (CBS Philly)
  5. There are over 27,000 people living with HIV in Greater Philadelphia, according to the city’s Office of HIV Planning. To raise awareness and funds for those living with the virus, AIDS Walk Philly is back in person with its annual 5K walk. The kickoff will take place Friday, Sept. 24 at 11:30 a.m. at the entrance to Rittenhouse Square. The actual walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 17, on Martin Luther King Drive. (WHYY)
