- A man is dead after Philadelphia police say he was stabbed in Southwest Philadelphia and collapsed after walking to the police station for help. This happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 6500 block of Woodland Avenue in the Elmwood Park neighborhood. Philadelphia police said the victim, a 39-year-old man, walked into the 12th Police District building before collapsing, later dying at the hospital. (CBS Philly)

- A Philadelphia police officer has been released from the hospital more than a week after being wounded in a shootout with a man accused of killing a coworker at another hospital.
Arcenio Perez, 30, an eight-year police veteran, was released Wednesday from Penn Presbyterian Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound to the arm from a rifle round. Various officers lined the exit and saluted as their colleague was wheeled out through the hospital doors. (NBC 10 Philadelphia) - United States Postal Service inspectors said they are working to determine who is responsible for dumping dozens of pieces of personal mail in Philadelphia's Eastwick section. Dianne Caesar said she was on a walk with her dog on Tuesday morning when she spotted something unusual in the woods. It was mail belonging to several people - both opened and unopened - was found scattered in the woods. (WPVI-TV)
- Three Philadelphia restaurants β a Detroit-style pizza shop, an Israeli grill and an innovative bagel maker β are included in the list the New York Times compiled this week of "the 50 most vibrant and delicious restaurants in 2021." Down North Pizza, Laser Wolf and Korshak Bagels were selected by food critics, reporters and editors who were tasked with finding restaurants around the United States that "reflect the rich mosaic of American dining."
