Closed TSA Checkpoints Reopening At Philly International Airport

With holiday travel looming, the Philadelphia International Airport said the closed TSA checkpoints in Terminals A-West and F are reopening.

PHILADELPHIA — With the longest-ever federal government shutdown over, things are getting back to normal, including in the air travel industry.

According to officials with the Philadelphia International Airport, the closed TSA checkpoints at the airport will reopen Thursday.

TSA temporarily closed security Terminal A-West and Terminal F in early November to "optimize operations across other checkpoints" during the federal government shutdown.

The reopening news is welcome as holiday traveling starts to increase.

This year, the airport projects almost 1 million passengers will fly to and from the airport from Friday to December 2.

The heaviest travel days are expected to be Nov. 30 with 99,264 anticipated passengers; Nov. 29 with 94,412 anticipated passengers; and Nov. 26 with 93,848 anticipated passengers

All security checkpoints will be open for the holiday travel period.
