- A Philadelphia man who spent 21 years in prison for murder has been accused of fraudulently applying for and obtaining pandemic assistance funds shortly after his release. According to federal authorities, Kyle McLemore, 44, of Philadelphia, was arrested and charged by indictment with one count of mail fraud and two counts of theft of public money. In February 1999, McLemore was convicted on state charges of murdering an individual and shooting three others on the University of Pennsylvania's campus after a high school basketball game. - Three masked men pushed a woman out of the way and shot her date as he sat in a car near Front and South streets on the edge of Philadelphia's Society Hill neighborhood. The man and the woman -- who are both from outside Philadelphia -- had come into the city for a first date Monday night. While the man was in a black 2015 Audi parked along Front Street, near South Street, and talking to the woman, who was outside the car, around 11:30 p.m., three masked men approached and pushed the woman out of the way (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Philadelphia police are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a city sanitation worker injured Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on the 5200 block of Jefferson Street. Police say a city sanitation truck was parked on the street while a 37-year-old male worker began loading trash into the truck. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)
- It's going to look a lot like Christmas in Center City Philadelphia this week, as the Holiday Tree will arrive in the city Wednesday. A 45-foot-tall, more-than-40-year-old tree will be delivered via flatbed truck Wednesday evening to the Wawa Holiday Plaza located on the north side of City Hall. It will be hoisted into position by Sautter Crane in preparation for decoration by Proof Productions in advance of the annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 2 (Philadelphia Patch)
- One person is dead after an early morning house fire in North Philadelphia, with the fire forcing three people to jump out windows to escape. The fire started just after 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of North 21st Street. When the Philadelphia Fire Department arrived, they found flames on the first floor. (CBS 3)
