Decomposing Body Had Gunshot Wounds, $20K Reward Offered For Information

Philadelphia Police said 27-year-old Malik Tribble's decomposing body had multiple gunshot wounds when it was found in a vehicle's trunk.

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Police have launched a homicide investigation after a decomposing body was found in a vehicle's trunk Wednesday morning.

Authorities identified the victim as Malik Tribble, 27, of the 1700 block of North 25th Street.

Tribble's body was found at about 9:12 p.m. on the 2000 block of North Bambrey Street, police said.

Officers were called to the area in reference to a suspicious vehicle, a Dodge Charger, that was left unattended.

When they showed up, officers noticed a smell of decomposition coming from the vehicle's trunk.

After opening the trunk, authorities found a body wrapped in a sheet.

The Medical Examiner determined Tribble's cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said the vehicle was stolen, as well.

No motive has been determined, and no arrests have been made.
