Boyle Defeats Bashir In 2nd Congressional District Race

The Associated Press named Congressman Brendan Boyle the winner in his race against Republican Aaron Bashir.

PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania's 2nd Congressional District in Philadelphia will remain under Democratic control, with Rep. Brendan Boyle being declared the winner in the race.

According to the Associated Press, Boyle was declared the victor over Republican challenger Aaron Bashir.

As of 10:31 a.m. Wednesday, Boyle has 180,513 votes (71.11 percent), and Bashir 73,350 votes (28.89 percent).

These results are still unofficial, but Boyle appears to have secured another term representing Philadelphia's 2nd Congressional District.
