Feds Charge Man Accused Of Posing As ICE In Philly Robbery
Robert Rosado was charged locally in June and now faces federal charges after authorities said he posed as an ICE officer during a robbery.

PHILADELPHIA — The man who authorities said posed as an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officer to facilitate the robbery of a Philadelphia business has caught the attention of federal prosecutors.
Robert Rosado, 54, of Philadelphia was charged by Philadelphia authorities with impersonating law enforcement, false imprisonment, robbery, and more crimes after June 8 robbery at a business on the 6400 block of Harbison Avenue.
During the incident, Rosdao was wearing a black baseball cap with the United States flag on the front, black sunglasses, a black long sleeve shirt, gloves, a black tactical vest with "Security Enforcement Agent" on it, and dark green cargo pants, authorities said

He zip-tied a 50-year-old woman and stole about $1,000 in cash before driving away in a white Ford E-250 van, according to authorities.

Now, Rosado is being charged on a federal level.
United States Attorney David Metcalf Monday said Rosado was charged by indictment with false impersonation of a federal officer and robbery interfering with interstate commerce in connection with the robbery.
Federal prosecutors said Rosado went into the business, where he identified himself as a federal immigration officer, before restraining the woman and robbing the business.
If convicted in the federal case, Rosado faces a maximum possible sentence of 23 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
Court records show Rosado is scheduled for a Sept. 9 preliminary hearing on the local charges. He remains in custody after failing to post 10 percent of $400,000 bail, according to court documents.
