Ground Stop In Place At Philly Airport For Inbound Flights

Flight tracking website FlightAware.com is reporting delay times for departing flights are increasing, as well.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia International Airport said severe weather in Thursday's forecast has impacted inbound flights.

Officials said on social media Thursday afternoon that a ground stop in place for flights headed to the airport due to thunderstorms.

According to flight tracking website FlightAware.com, flights inbound to Philadelphia are delayed at their origin an average of 2 hours 15 minutes, while arrival delays for airborne aircraft an average of 32 minutes. The latter time continues to increase, as of 2:27 p.m., the website says.

Additionally, all inbound flights are being held at their origin until 3:15 p.m., according to Flight Aware.

Departing flights are seeing delays of two hours one minute to two hours 15 minutes. Those delay times are also increasing, the website says.
