2nd I-95 Shooting Reported In Less Than 2 Weeks

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a red SUV with dark tinted windows in connection with a road rage shooting on I-95 Friday evening.

PHILADELPHIA — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating another shooting on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia, with a shooting happening just more than a week before in the same area of the highway.

The most recent shooting occurred at about 5:15 p.m. Friday on I-95 north near exit 26 for Aramingo Avenue and the Betsy Ross bridge in Philadelphia.

Police said the victim, a 26-year-old man from Philadelphia, was in the middle lane of the highway when he cut off a newer model red SUV with dark tinted window in the left lane.

The SUV then started exhibiting road rage-like behavior, police said. Its driver threw a can at the victim's vehicle, then positioned the SUV in front of the victim's vehicle where the driver started brake checking the victim, according to police.

As the victim approached the Cottman Avenue exit, the SUV got behind him. Police said that's when the victim heard a loud bang and realized his vehicle was shot.

The victim, who was not injured, then contacted police.

A shooting was reported in the same area of Interstate 95 on Feb. 12. No one was hurt in that shooting.
