Herr's 'Flavored by Philly: Crunch Off' Winner Announced
This year, three previous winners went head-to-head in a public vote to become a permanent Herr's flavor. See if your favorite flavor won.

PHILADELPHIA — Herr's Foods Inc., one of Pennsylvania's most beloved brands, has named a winner in its "Flavored by Philly: Crunch Off" potato chip flavor contest.
Fans of the snack company may remember its previous three Flavored by Philly contests, in which the public submitted potato chip flavors inspired by Philadelphia foods, then a public vote chose a winner among three finalist flavors.
But in 2025, Herr's put the three victorious flavors up against each other, with the winner earning a permanent spot among the brand's potato chip flavor varieties.

Tomato Pie (2023 Winner)
Paying homage to Corropolese Bakery’s signature dish, this chip features the familiar flavors of sweet tomato sauce and Romano cheese paired with Herr’s signature hearty crunch.
Special Hot Stromboli (2024 Winner)
Modeled after Romano’s Special Hot Stromboli, this flavor delivers a savory blend of cheese and spices with just the right amount of heat—capturing the essence of a Philly classic.
And it turns out snackers' desire for a bit of heat was undefeatable, as Long Hots & Sharp Provolone outpaced Tomato Pie and Special Hot Stromboli in votes and sales.
This year’s competition saw 199,008 votes, a 654 percent increase in participation, making it the most engaging contest yet.
"We’re always looking for ways to celebrate the incredible flavors of our region, and Long Hots & Sharp Provolone Potato Chips truly captures the bold, unique spirit of Philadelphia," Ed Herr, Executive Chair of Herr Foods Inc., said. "The outpouring of support from our fans this year was unparalleled, and we’re proud to make this winning flavor part of our everyday lineup."
Long Hots & Sharp Provolone will be available year-round beginning in January 2026.
