Independence Mall Closing For Utilty Work, PennDOT Says
During the work, Independence Mall will be closed and detoured Mondays through Thursdays between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street.

PHILADELPHIA — PennDOT said Independence Mall in Philadelphia will be closed for about a month due to utility construction.
According to PennDOT, the work will take place overnight Monday, April 21 through Thursday, May 15.
Crews will be working from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

During the work, Independence Mall will be closed and detoured Mondays through Thursdays between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street.
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Walnut Street, 7th Street, and Chestnut Street.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
