  1. Police are investigating two overnight carjackings in Philadelphia Monday, including one where a child was in the backseat. In one carjacking in South Philadelphia, a 25-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and then had his SUV stolen; he was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition. The other incident took place in North Philadephia, where an SUV was stolen with a one-year-old in the backseat; fortunately, the child was reunited with her family. (CBS Philly)
  2. A local chef recently "Beat Bobby Flay" on the Food Network competition show of the same name. Scott Calhoun, owner and executive chef at Ember and Ash in Philadelphia, appeared on the program on Dec. 21 with his business partner and fellow executive chef Dave Feola. Calhoun beat Feola for the chance to square off against Flay in the final round; ultimately, Calhoun's dish was declared the winner against the celebrity chef. (Philadelphia Patch)
  3. From now until Jan. 14, 2022, Philadelphia’s Cultural Treasures is accepting grant applications from BIPOC arts organizations. Philadelphia’s Cultural Treasures is an affiliated grant program of the William Penn Foundation. The grant program is a multi-year program aimed at supporting the recovery and flourishing of BIPOC artists, cultural groups, and organizations serving the Philadelphia region. (AL DIA News)
