Hurts was drafted by the Eagles in 2020 as the 53rd pick. He led the Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in February, preventing a three-peat by the team led by Andy Reid. The Texas native was crowned the Super Bowl MVP.
It was his second Super Bowl appearance with the Birds; they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

Following the win, more than a million Eagles fans descended upon the streets of Philadelphia for the parade, which was held on Valentine's Day.
During the Super Bowl winning season, Hurts was injured in week 16 against the Washington Commanders. He sat out the final two games of the season, returning for the wild card game against the Green Bay Packers.
Hurts, in an exclusive issue with Men's Health, told the outlet the importance of his daily routine. "Everything is found in the details,” he says. “Details and repetition. We’re all products of ingrained behavior—that’s through time on task, that’s repetition.”
