  1. On Monday night, the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia changed its name to “The Weitzman.” The name honors benefactor Stuart Weitzman, a designer and entrepreneur who made a fortune in the shoe business and has been donating to the museum for almost a decade. (WHYY)
  2. A Philadelphia man has been charged with felon firearm crimes after authorities said he bought three guns and gave them to a gang to have them later be used in crimes, authorities said. Tyrone Patterson, 22, has been charged with three counts each of tampering with public records/information, delivery of firearm after 48 hours elapsed, giving a false identity to purchase a firearm, unsworn falsification to authorities, and related crimes, District Attorney Larry Krasner said. Patterson has also been charged with child welfare endangerment in an unrelated incident. (Philadelphia Patch)
  3. Two people were arrested for holding up a Philadelphia 7-Eleven convenience store at gunpoint. The armed robbery happened around 11:15 p.m. Sunday at the store on Rising Sun and Wyoming avenues in Olney. Police say the suspects pulled a gun on the clerk and walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash. (WPVI-TV)
  4. University of Pennsylvania researchers Drew Weissman and Katalin Karikó will be honored by the Franklin Institute in May for their groundbreaking discovery that helped develop the messenger RNA technology utilized in some COVID-19 vaccines. Weissman and Karikó have been named the 2022 recipients of the Benjamin Franklin Medal in Life Science. The award comes with a $10,000 prize and a 14-karat gold medal. (PhillyVoice.com)
  5. Police in Philadelphia are asking for help locating a vehicle and gunmen involved in a shooting that left two people dead and another hurt early Sunday morning. The shooting occurred at about 4:26 a.m. on the 3200 block of North Front Street. Police were called to the area and found three male victims, two 22 years old and one 21. (Philadelphia Patch)
