At Least 8 Shot Over Weekend In Philadelphia
Of the eight people shot over the weekend, one has died, according to Philadelphia Police.
PHILADELPHIA — At least eight people were shot over the weekend in Philadelphia, according to police, and one of them has died.
The first shooting happened sometime early Friday night.
Police said a 21-year-old man came to Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his back. He was placed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and no motive have been determined. The incident is under investigation
Then another shooting occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Friday on the 800 block of Montrose Street.

Police were called to the 800 block of South 59th Street for a shooting and found a 23-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where died at 12:43 a.m. Saturday.
No motive has been identified, and no arrests have been made.
At about 7:05 p.m. Saturday, a shooting happened near the 800 block of Brill Street, and a teenage boy was hurt.
Police said the boy, 15, was shot in the leg and was taken to Einstein Hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made, and no motive has been determined, as well.
Not long after, at about 8:25 p.m., police were called to the Fox Chase Recreation Center, located at 7901 Ridgeway St., for a report of a shooting.
There, they learned a girl was hit by gunfire. She was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital, where she was placed in stable condition.
Again, no motive has been determined, and no arrests have been made.
On Sunday, police found an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot on the unit block of North Frazier Street at about 6:17 p.m.
He was taken to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment. Police did not provide information on his condition.
No arrests were made and no motive has been identified.
An adult woman was shot at about 8:24 p.m. on the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The woman was taken to Temple University Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.
Similar to the other shootings, no arrests have been made and no motivation determined.
Then at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday, a 22-year-old man was shot in the face while working at the Bridge Market and Wireless store on the 2000 block of Bridge Street.
Police said the employee was taken to Temple Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
According to police, before the shooting, a man wearing a black hoodie and black pants came into the store and argued with the cashier, who was behind a security door.
Police said the suspect pointed a gun through the window, kicked in the security door, and fired at the victim, striking him in the face. He then took an unknown amount of cash from the victim’s hand before fleeing the scene, police said.
And lastly, a 66-year-old woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of her abdomen at about 2:53 a.m. Monday inside the second floor of a home on the 4600 block of Wayne Avenue.
Police said their preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in the bathroom when she heard a gunshot outside the door and immediately felt pain.
She called 911 and waited for help before officers took her to Temple Hospital, where she was admitted in stable condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
