'Phillies Karen' Remains Unidentified; Dad In Viral Incident Says 'Leave It Alone'
Drew Feltwell was thrust into the spotlight by the viral moment at a Phillies-Marlins game. Now, he's defending the woman who harangued him.
PHILADELPHIA — In case you live under a rock, "Phillies Karen" has been the talk of the internet after a viral incident during Friday's Phillies-Marlins game at LoanDepot Park in Miami was captured by broadcast cameras.
The "Karen" in question was pilloried online for demanding fellow Phils fan Drew Feltwell give her the home run ball hit by Phillies centerfielder Harrison Bader that he snatched up for his son Lincoln in the game's fourth inning.
Feltwell told NBC10 he gave her the ball to defuse the situation.

The Feltwells got their happy ending thanks to the Phils and Marlins staff, including a meeting with Bader and a Bader-signed baseball bat.

"Please don't do anything to that lady," said in an interview with USA Today Sports. "Leave it alone. You know, somebody knows her and can talk to her, that's different. But God, I don't want people breaking in their house and stuff like that. The internet already messed her up pretty good."
The backlash to the viral incident led to "internet sleuths" misidentifying the woman in question on two fronts.
First, pitchfork and torch crowd said she was Cheryl Richardson-Wagner. Richardson-Wagner took to her Facebook page to say she is not "Phillies Karen."
"I'm NOT the crazy Philly Mom (but I sure would love to be as thin as she is and move as fast)," Richardson-Wagner posted online. "And I'm a Red Sox fan."
Secondly, social media users claimed "Phillies Karen" was employed by the Hammonton School District in Hammonton, New Jersey, and her actions led to her termination.
"The woman identified on social media as 'Phillies Karen' is not, and has never been an employee of the Hammonton Public Schools located in Hammonton, New Jersey," the district said. "Social media and news reports indicating that she is, are incorrect. Anyone who works for our school district, attended as a student or lives in our community would obviously have caught the ball bare-handed in the first place, avoiding this entire situation."
"Phillies Karen" remains unidentified.
