  1. A man was shot and killed by a Christmas Village security guard at Philadelphia's LOVE Park Tuesday night. Gregory Thomas Sr., 43, has been charged with murder and related crimes after police said he shot and killed a 29-year-old man at LOVE Park. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was found shot at about 8:45 p.m. in the park at 15th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. (Philadelphia Patch)
  2. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health says there is no immediate danger in the air after Tuesday's massive junkyard fire, but there is still a reason for some people to take caution. In an update Wednesday afternoon, officials said there are "no toxic chemicals at levels that would be harmful to your health." However, health officials still urged residents to be mindful of the lingering particles in the air. (WPVI-TV)
  3. A former Philadelphia priest once accused of sex abuse has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. Only Eyewitness News was there as Robert Brennan walked into federal court in Center City Wednesday morning. He did not answer questions. (CBS Philly)
  4. Biden's child tax credit is cutting poverty in Philly, but many aren't getting the cash. In Philadelphia, federal and city estimates show this cash could pull as many as 75,000 residents above the poverty line, cutting deep childhood poverty by half. But to do that, the money needs to reach the people who are the least connected to the IRS. (WHYY)
  5. The Philadelphia City Council is moving forward with an effort to make outdoor dining permanent. On Tuesday, the Committee on Streets and Services of the Council of the City of Philadelphia advanced legislation that would allow "streeteries" to remain in place past the December 31 time frame. City officials say the number of outdoor setups went from 230 to 830 during the pandemic. (WPVI-TV)
