Man Fatally Shot On SEPTA Train: Police

A man died after being shot on a SEPTA train Friday, and the person who pulled the trigger is reportedly claiming self-defense.

PHILADELPHIA — A man was fatally shot on a SEPTA Line Friday, and the person who shot the man is reportedly claiming self-defense.

The shooting happened at about 7:38 p.m. Friday on a northbound Broad Street Line train at North Broad Street and West Girard Avenue, police said.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:09 p.m.

Fox 29 reports the shooter was taken into custody and claimed they acted in self-defense.
