Man Shoots At Philly Cops After Monday Night Traffic Stop: Reports

A 45-year-old man shot at Philadelphia Police officers after leading them on a chase Monday night before being taken into custody.

PHILADELPHIA — A man is in custody after reportedly shooting at a Philadelphia Police officer and leading authorities on a chase Monday night.

The incident began at about 10 p.m. when police stopped a Buick for having expired plates at Morton Street and Walnut Lane, NBC10 reports.

The driver got out of the car, then back in, and drove for a few blocks before exiting the car and running off, according to Action News.

Police quickly caught up to the driver, and while apprehending him he fired a single gunshot at one of the officers, but missed, Fox 29 reports.

The officers were able to take the man into custody eventually.

They also recovered the weapon and drugs in the vehicle, according to Fox.

No officers were hurt.
