- Mayor Jim Kenney is recovering well after a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat. The mayor had the procedure on Tuesday afternoon. He still plans to return to work on Thursday. (WPVI-TV)
- Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha broke new ground on a sustainably-minded building that will house 44 affordable apartments for seniors. The nonprofit is building the housing in North Philadelphia at 730 Berks Street. The building will house units for those who are 65 and older or those who are below 60% of the city's medium income. (WHYY)
- The Philadelphia Film Society announced a new limited film series honoring the career of Academy Award winner Sidney Poitier. “They Call Him Mr. Poitier” will showcase four films this February. The films are “A Raisin in the Sun,” “In The Heat of The Night,” “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner,” and “Sneakers.” (wooderice.com)
- Philadelphia police are searching for multiple suspects involved in two armed robberies after officers were called to the scene of 6100 block of West Passyunk Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia Tuesday night. A man was later shot trying to escape an attempt at robbery in the Brewerytown neighborhood. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. (WPVI-TV)
