Legendary Metal Band Taking Over Philly Ahead Of 2-Show Run At The Linc
In addition to concerts at The Linc on May 23 and May 25, Metallica Takeover in Philadelphia will feature a week's worth of events for fans.

PHILADELPHIA — Heavy metal legends Metallica are taking over Philadelphia next month.
The beloved thrash metal rockers are embarking on the M72 World Tour soon, and are playing at Lincoln Financial Field May 23 and May 25.

In Philadelphia, the band will play two nights — with a "No Repeat Weekend" featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation, established in 2017 to give back to communities that have supported the band. Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $20 million, and provided $11.4 million in grants for workforce education, $7.4 million to fight hunger globally, and $5.2 million donated to critical local services worldwide.
Ahead of these concerts is the Metallica Takeover in Philadelphia, featuring a week's worth of Metallica-themed activities for fans to enjoy.
The takeover will include discussions with guitarist Kirk Hammett, a Metallica art show, live performances, a Metallica blood drive, and a Metallica-themed concert, all beginning May 20.

American Red Cross X Metallica Blood Drive — Lincoln Financial Field, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Pop-Up Shop — Corner of West Shunk and South 23rd streets, May 22 through May 25, 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. (Thursday through Saturday), 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. (Sunday).

The Rock & Roll Playhouse: Music of Metallica for Kids — Brooklyn Bowl (upstairs), 1009 Canal St., Philadelphia, May 24 at Noon. Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse offers its core audience of families with children aged 1 to 7, games, movement, stories and most importantly an opportunity to rock out. Metallica Rock & Bowl Bowling Event — Brooklyn Bowl (downstairs), May 24 at 2 p.m. Tune into 93.3 WMMR for your chance to bowl alongside members of Metallica’s crew & WMMR staff.
