This Is PA's Most Expensive Restaurant, Where The Cheesesteak Is $140

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Be prepared to drop more than $200 if you order off the top of the menu at Barclay Prime in Philadelphia, the most expensive restaurant in Pennsylvania, according to a new ranking.
Love Food, whose content includes recipes, food news, and opinion pieces, said the list of upscale restaurants in every state includes everything from “old-school, mahogany-filled steakhouses to seafood spots right by the ocean.”
The picks are based on the priciest main course or tasting menu. Spots with just one very expensive dish were excluded.

At Barclay Prime, even Philly's signature dish — the cheesesteak — will cost you more than $100.
"Mind you, the beef is wagyu rib-eye, the cheese is truffled, and it’s topped with foie gras," Love Food says in its analysis.

Here's a look at some of the pricier items on the Barclay Prime dinner menu:
Barclay Prime Grand Plateau (seafood platter): $185
Barclay Prime Cheesesteak: $140 hand cut wagyu, black truffle, foie gras, fried onions, cooper sharp on a freshly baked sesame roll. Served with a ½ bottle of champagne
Bone-In Ribeye 24 oz: $175
Japanese Wagyu

The restaurant has more than 1,500 Google reviews, with a overall 4.7 rating.
Despite the hefty bill, diners raved about the food and the atmosphere.
"Incredible from start to finish. The true definition of what a restaurant should be, from start to finish," one reviewer said.
Many diners noted it is a great spot for a special occasion. "We celebrated my husband’s birthday here, and the experience was wonderful," a reviewer said.
Another said: "Booked a table at Barclay for my wife's birthday dinner. Beautiful restaurant and the food / service was phenomenal."
Several renowned restaurants were included on the list.
In California, the most expensive restaurant is The French Laundry, run by famed chef Thomas Keller, the subject of a recent "Chef's Table Legends" episode on Netflix. The three Michelin-star restaurant serves tasting menus that cost $425 plus add-ons.
In Illinois, be prepared to spend more than $500 to eat at three Michelin–starred icon Alinea, the subject of a 2016 episode of "Chef's Table."
In nearby New Jersey, Restaurant Latour at the exclusive Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg was named as most expensive. "With a seven-course tasting menu for $195, it’s certainly one to save for the most special occasions, but diners rave about elegant, flavor-packed dishes like the cuttlefish risotto and Kurobuta pork Wellington. However, it’s the breathtaking mountain views from the dining room that really seal the deal," the analysis said.
