Just before 6 p.m., police received a call about a disturbance between "a male and a female believed to be his girlfriend" in a house on the 5400 block of Chancellor Street, Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said.

The male suspect allegedly fired a shot inside the house and the female called 911, Vanore said. A responding officer saw the suspect leave the house, approach a black pickup truck and demand the driver get out so he could take it, Vanore said. The officer confronted him and fired one shot at that scene.
