PHILADELPHIA, PA-- The Philadelphia Eagles were cheered on by thousands of fans Friday as they paraded through the streets of Center City after their Super Bowl championship win.

The Birds kicked off the parade at Lincoln Financial Field on Pattison Avenue, then made their way uptown on South Broad Street to their final destination at the Philadelphia Art Museum on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Parades have become an iconic part of the fanatical Philadelphia sports zeitgeist. Chase Utley’s “world (expletive) champs!” victory speech in 2008 and Jason Kelce’s “an underdog is a hungry dog” growling pontification in 2018 have become immortalized in the city’s growing sports legend.

This is the Eagles second Super Bowl win in franchise history after their first back in 2018. The Eagles had another chance at victory in 2023, but fell short after being defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterback Jalen Hurts and his team came back for revenge against the Chiefs in this year's Super Bowl 59, crushing them in a 40-22 win.

The team waved atop buses and floats decked out in the team's colors, with the Eagle mascot emblazoned on flags. Crowds of fans lined the streets shouting their praises for the football team and singing “Fly Eagles Fly.” The parade welcomed back the triumphant team and the return of the Lombardi trophy to Philadelphia.
