PHILADELPHIA-- Queen Elizabeth II travelled with her husband Prince Philip to Philadelphia in 1976 to commemorate the United States bicentennial. They received a warm welcome from citizens and toured the city's most iconic landmarks. During their trip to Independence Hall, the Queen presented the Bicentennial Bell as a gift from Britain, which is still on display at the museum today.

The Queen also met with Mayor Frank Rizzo and dined at the Philadelphia Art Museum.
