- Three armed men wearing police vests robbed a Philadelphia home early Monday morning, police said. The men barged into an apartment at the Summit Park Apartments complex on the 8200 block of Henry Avenue in Roxborough around 1 a.m. and forced the person inside to give up their car keys. Police said the trio took off in the car but left the victim uninjured. No arrests were immediately reported. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Children who live within four or five blocks of a shooting have an increased likelihood of needing medical attention for a mental health issue in the weeks that follow, according to new research from Penn Medicine and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Visits to pediatric emergency departments for mental health issues – like post-traumatic distress syndrome, depression, psychiatric emergencies and intentional ingestion of harmful substances – increased following gun violence in Philly neighborhoods, the researchers found. - The Philadelphia Eagles fell to the San Fransico 49ers this week in a 17-11 loss at home. The Eagles put themselves in a position to win on multiple occasions Sunday afternoon, but saw several opportunities slip away into a red and gold event horizon. None was more noticeable, of course, than the failed resurrection of the Philly Special, the defining play of that 2018 Super Bowl that is immortalized in bronze statue form in South Philadelphia. - CVS plans To hire 25,000 Philadelphia workers during their virtual career event this Friday. They’re looking for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and retail workers. CVS recently announced it is raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour. (CBS Philly)
