Protesters Storm Football Field At UPenn-Yale Homecoming Game

Activists with Fossil Free Penn stormed the football field in Philadelphia Saturday.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Protesters with the group "Fossil Free Penn" stormed the UPenn-Yale homecoming game Saturday.

According to The Daily Pennsylvanian, more than 60 protesters rushed the field and the game has been paused for more than 30 minutes.

The protesters had given advance notice of their demonstration. Activists with the group have been camping at the campus center for nearly 40 days.

Along with two other groups, the activists say they are demanding the university commit funds to saving University City townhomes, divest from fossil fuels and pay payments in lieu of taxes to support the city's public schools.
