Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:

  1. Philadelphia police are investigating the shooting that left a 41-year-old man dead on the 800 block of Scattergood Street. On Thursday night the man was shot once in the chest. The unidentified man was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition but later died after. (WPVI-TV)
  2. Mobile COVID-19 testing sites will be closed today due to inclement weather. The city is expected 3 to 6 inches of snowfall overnight. They will be open for special hours on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 8-9, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m and resume normal hours on Monday. (philasd.org)
  3. A man who was followed on his way to work was approached by armed suspects in Oxford Circle on Thursday morning. During the struggle, the man was shot in the leg and the suspects fled the scene shortly after without taking anything. The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center to be treated for his wound.
