Shots Fired, Pedestrian Hit By Car In Philly Road Rage Incident: Police

Philadelphia Police said a man who opened fire on another driver in a road rage incident Thursday sped off and struck a pedestrian.

PHILADELPHIA — A pedestrian was struck by a driver who Philadelphia Police said fired a gun at another vehicle in a road rage incident Thursday morning.

According to police, the incident began at about 10:23 a.m. and stemmed from a dispute over changing lanes.

During the dispute, police said one driver pulled out a black handgun and fired it at the other vehicle.

In that vehicle was the driver, his girlfriend, and two children, police said.

No one was hurt, and the driver flagged down police, alerting them to the shooting.

While the shooter was fleeing the area, they struck a pedestrian at Tulip and Huntington streets.

The pedestrian was taken to Temple Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Police stopped the vehicle on the 2600 block of Memphis Street and recovered a black handgun loaded with four rounds, authorities said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
