- Talks between the Sixers and Ben Simmons are gaining traction, and the embattled All-Star could return to the team as soon as some point this week. Despite consistent reports out of Simmons' camp that he was "done" with Philadelphia for the past several weeks, the Sixers have refused to give up, and progress has been made, according to ESPN's NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. The report was later confirmed by NBC Philadelphia's John Clark, who said that talks have been extensive and that a "resolution" to the ongoing stalemate was in progress. (Philadelphia Patch)
- On Monday, the city of Philadelphia announced plans for a scaled-back marathon weekend on Nov 19-21. The 26.2-mile main event on Sunday, Nov. 21, the 13.1-mile Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon and Rothman Orthopaedics 8K on Saturday, Nov. 20 will go on with the coronavirus vaccine requirement in place. Runners for any of the 2021 races will be required to prove they are two weeks out from full vaccination status prior to the race. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
- Philly's first 'green bank' will connect clean energy projects to the capital. With the Philadelphia Green Capital Corp. (PGCC), Executive Director Maryrose Myrtetus wants to improve access to green energy for communities throughout the city and slow the effects of climate change. While 'green bank' is a term commonly used in the clean energy industry, Myrtetus, a former manager with Princeton renewables company Clearway Energy, explained that green banks are not financial or depository institutions.
