A 17-year-old student at Thomas Edison High School was found with a gun and drugs on the first day of school, according to reports.

PHILADELPHIA — A student at a Philadelphia high school was reportedly found with a gun and drugs on the first day of school.

The discovery was made Monday at Thomas Edison High School, 151 W. Luzerne St.

Action News reports a 17-year-old student was taken into custody at about 8:50 a.m.

The boy was found in possession of a silver handgun and narcotics, according to NBC10.

He was charged with weapons and narcotics violations, Fox 29 reports.
