- Philadelphia man James Chandler pleads guilty to kidnapping and robbing two USPS workers in separate incidents this year. Chandler, 55, was arrested in February in connection with the incidents that occurred on Jan. 11 and Feb. 4. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 11, 2022. (PhillyVoice.com)
- Just one week after Hurricane Ida, another round of flooding and tornadoes is expected to impact Philadelphia. A Flash Flood Watch was issued on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes are possible. (Philadelphia Patch)
- The floodwaters that seeped onto Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River Trail from the remnants of Hurricane Ida have receded. Volunteers have worked to restore the trail, but it is expected to take months to bring it back to the way it was before the storm. (WHYY)
- Philadelphia police have released new images of vehicles being sought after a mother and her 3-year-old son were struck by a hit-and-run driver. Rebecca Malave, 37, died several days after the incident while her son is being treated at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children with a traumatic brain injury. (WPVI-TV)
- The University of Pennsylvania named the members of the search committee tasked to find its next president. The committee will receive input from the school's community to determine expected challenges the next president will face. Members will also set strategic priorities for the university to help them narrow their search. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
