A vehicle that caught fire on Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia Monday afternoon led to a brush fire that closed multiple travel lanes.
PHILADELPHIA — A vehicle fire led to a brush fire during Monday afternoon in Philadelphia, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers were called to mile marker 15 on Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia at 1:59 p.m. Monday for a disabled vehicle on the shoulder.
Police learned the vehicle caught fire after experiencing mechanical issues and pulled over on the highway.

The vehicle fire then spread to nearby foliage off I-95.
The ensuing fire led authorities to close multiple lanes of the highway as the Philadelphia Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire.

One traffic lane was open during the fire department's response.
Both fires were put out, and the vehicle was towed away.
No one was hurt, police said.
