Woman Fatally Shot Tuesday Morning In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — A woman was fatally shot in Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

Philadelphia Police said Jasmine Johnson, 27, died at 12:35 a.m. after being shot about 15 minutes before.

The shooting happened at about 12:19 a.m. Tuesday on the 3100 block of West Montgomery Avenue, police said.

Police said Johnson was on her property's front porch, talking to two people, when she was shot.

She ran into the property, where she collapsed on the living room floor, police said.

When officers showed up, they found a woman, later identified as Johnson, on the ground with a gunshot wound to her back.

Medics pronounced her dead on the scene, police said.

Authorities found multiple fired casings from a rifle and a semiautomatic handgun were recovered along the highway in the 3100 block of West Montgomery Avenue. Authorities believe there was a shootout due to the location of the shell casings.

Police said at least one bullet went into her home and another into a neighboring property, both becoming lodged in walls.

Police have made any arrests.
