Woman Hit With Bottle During Attempted Robbery: Philly Police

Philadelphia Police said the man seen here hit a woman in the head with a bottle as he tried to steal her cell phone last week.

PHILADELPHIA — Auhotirites in Philadelphia are looking for a man they said attacked a woman during an attempted robbery last week.

The incident happened at about 11:36 p.m. on the 2000 block of South Street.

The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was on that block at that time when she was approached by a man.

Police said that man tried to grab the woman's cell phone from her hands.

She fought back, and during the struggle the man hit her over the head with a bottle, then pushed her to the ground, according to police.

The man ran off without taking her phone, heading west on South Street, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was in stable condition.

Police described the suspect at a man with a brown complexion, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall, who was wearing a black t-shirt with a red devil symbol on the front and black pants.
