Mooo-ve over Royal British baby...this baby was born in a manger at the Kimberton Fair on Tuesday afternoon.
Born a week late to a first-time mom, this baby weighed in at about 100 pounds when she was born at 3 p.m. She was up on four slightly wobbly legs greeting fair goers within a few hours. After a short walkabout (more like a carry about with some human helpers) it was time for a nap.
Just like the royal newborn this baby doesn't have a name just yet. Her mama's name is Paige.
These cows are Ayrshires. Owner Sharon Nolan of Dreamnol Ayrshires in Cochranville says Ayrshires are of Scottish heritage. She explains that while they produce slightly less milk than some other breeds like Holsteins their milk has more butterfat.
Mother and baby were resting comfortably Tuesday evening at the exhibition hall in a soft bed of hay and softwood bedding.
